To the editor:
I’d like to recognize all of the people who donated time or materials to my Eagle Scout project at the Barrington Farm School.
Friends, scouts and family all came together to make the project possible. Many adults added their expertise, including Mrs. DelSanto at BMS who helped me cut wood, and other adults from the community who made important contributions.
Local businesses enthusiastically came forward to help me. Ace Hardware donated plexiglass, soil and dowels. Shaw’s donated refreshments. Arnold Lumber contributed hardware and adhesives. Ocean State Job Lot offered seeds. A major contribution came from Meridian Custom Homes (a company that went above and beyond) by donating pavers and lumber.
Most importantly, Mr. Faulkner of Barrington Farm School worked alongside me the whole way and provided support and guidance to make sure that my project remained true to the mission of sustainability at the Farm School.
Together, 30 volunteers donated 258 hours to help clear brush and construct a cold frame, making our community a better place by increasing productivity at the last remaining farm in Barrington.
Thank you all!
