Letter: Thanks for emergency repairs to Seakonnet Pt. seawall

Anyone driving at Sakonnet Point may have noticed that you do not need to worry about the condition of the road or the seawall south of Sakonnet Yacht Club.

I have been pursuing the road and seawall repairs at Sakonnet Point for many years and persistence paid off. Finally, it has come to fruition with the assistance of Representative Dennis Canario and especially Senator Louis DiPalma and Town Administrator Tony Teixeira for meeting with me at the site with RIDOT officials to get this on an emergency repair.

RIDOT saw the urgent need to move on the project because of the unstable condition of the seawall. If the seawall had fallen, the road would have collapsed and would have become impassable to traffic heading to Sakonnet Point.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all who played a role in getting these much needed repairs done to bring safety and reestablish the beauty of the area.
