To the editor:

The Portsmouth-Tiverton Rotary Club would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who made the 67th annual Newport Motor Car Festival, Father’s Day Car Show, such an incredible and unforgettable event. Held on the beautiful grounds of Portsmouth Abbey, this year’s show was our most successful yet, and it’s all thanks to the support of our generous and enthusiastic community.

To the hundreds of car enthusiasts who showcased their antique, vintage, and custom vehicles: Thank you for sharing your passion, craftsmanship, and stories with us. Your pride in your vehicles and your commitment to this long-standing tradition keep the heart of this event beating strong year after year.

To our wonderful attendees, many of whom brought generations of family members to stroll the grounds, admire the cars, and make new memories, thank you for choosing to spend your Father’s Day with us. Your presence and support are what make this day so meaningful and joyful.

To the volunteers who arrived early, stayed late, directed traffic, set up tents, registered vehicles, sold tickets, managed parking, staffed booths, and jumped in wherever needed, your energy, teamwork, and generosity were unmatched. You are the backbone of this event, and we are so grateful for your tireless commitment.

A special thank-you to Portsmouth Abbey School for once again opening your campus to us. Your ongoing partnership and hospitality allow us to host this beloved event in such a welcoming and picturesque setting.

We also thank our sponsors, vendors, local officials, and community partners. Your continued support allows us to expand our reach and deepen our impact. We could not do this without you.

This year’s proceeds will directly support the Portsmouth-Tiverton Rotary Club’s service projects, local student scholarships, and charitable initiatives that uplift and strengthen our surrounding communities. Because of you, we are able to give it back in meaningful and lasting ways.

It was especially moving to welcome so many new faces this year — proof that the Rotary spirit and the joy of the car show continue to inspire people of all ages. With perfect weather, stunning vehicles, and a strong sense of community, this year’s event reminded us all why this tradition matters.

Thank you once again to everyone who helped make this day such a success. Whether you brought a car, volunteered your time, purchased a raffle ticket, donated, or simply joined us for the fun, you played a part in something truly special. We are honored to serve such a vibrant, generous, and engaged community.

We look forward to welcoming you back next year for the 68th annual Newport Motor Car Festival, Father’s Day Car Show!

With heartfelt appreciation,

Sharlene Patton
