Letter: Thank you to all our customers

To the editor:

We would like to start out by telling all of our customers of 19 years, how much we appreciate each and every one of them!

We truly love what we do, and being a part of this community. All of the outpouring of love from them all has been truly heart-warming. Even from people we have never met before.

We sure do hope that when we relocate, which we will let you know as soon as we do, that we can continue these relationships that have meant so much to our entire “BP” family.

Thank you so much for being a part of our “family,” because that is what you all were, family, not just a customer!

To all of our fellow Barrington residents we also would like everyone to know from us, that it is not the town’s fault that we are being evicted. It is solely on the landowner, Getty Realty Corp. They are the ones that have decided our fate. The only thing the town does have control over, is what they allow to become of this property in our town.

With that being said, we have also been life-long residents of this town, and we do not want to see the property become a Starbuck’s with a drive-thru. I mean how many coffee shops do we need in one small town? It is going to end up looking like a Route 6 in Seekonk, not the small quaint town we grew up in!

Even though we cannot be there, please do not let this happen. And although it is very sad to see one of the last remaining full service gas/repair stations go away, where you could get everything you needed in a “ one stop for your car” needs, it should not be replaced with a Starbucks!

We as tax-paying residents should all have a say in this.

Sincerely,

Kenny and Wendy Wajda
