Late afternoon on Monday I was at the Westport Police Department discussing a problem with Lt. Holden, who had gone out of his way to help me. Thank you, Lt. Holden!
As we chatted, I was clutching my key ring. I explained that I had lost my primary set of keys about a month before and I was protecting this backup set. He said, "wait a minute ... stay here.”
A few minutes later he was back with Detective Jeff Majewski in tow. Jeff runs the metal detector for the department and was just getting off duty. He offered to come to my house and look for them — .this on his own time and bringing the metal detector!
He was at our house minutes later and searched high and low for over a half hour, finally giving up. The keys are still hiding!
Thank you, Detective Majewski! This is perhaps is a small thing, but it goes to show the quality of the officers of the Westport Police Department. They are very thoughtful and generous with their private time. It was greatly appreciated!
