Raimondo’s new lockdowns are a disgrace! Cancel Halloween Parties! When Halloween falls on a Saturday the economic impact is the greatest compared to any other day!

To the editor:

Raimondo’s new lockdowns are a disgrace! Cancel Halloween Parties! When Halloween falls on a Saturday the economic impact is the greatest compared to any other day!

With snow on the ground as I write this, outdoor dining is done!

This fear mongering is only going to further hurt small businesses. The backbone of the US economy!

The Wuhan virus is real, but masks were to stop the spread that’s what we were told. How come it isn’t?

Most people testing positive have flu like symptoms. Elderly people and people with underlying health conditions need to be cautious.

NY Times reported that with the new meds seriously ill people are recovering faster.

We cannot allow Democrat politicians to shut down the country. Look at the drug overdose deaths in RI this year.

Lockdowns are causing alcohol and drug use to rise, depression, and suicides are also on the rise.

It’s time to stop with the lockdowns and stand up for our our 1st amendment rights!

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
