Letter: Seniors don’t have much time, so reopen center quickly

Posted

To the editor:

With recent reporting, one would initially think there is the light at the end of the tunnel for reopening the Senior Center, a valuable and needed resource for the elderly of our community. However, the timeline is years from now and realistically time is something seniors have little of.

The Senior Center closed in a flash. It should reopen quickly as well, even if it’s in progressive timelines to enable, first of all, vital services, prioritizing thereafter with other services and programs to completion. Unlike seniors, Time neither slows down nor waits for anyone. Seniors need the community to reach out and take their hand to make reopening a high priority.

Best to all.
