Letter: Senior center responds to help Bristol’s elderly

Posted

Living by their motto, “you may be isolated for a while, but you are not forgotten,” is normal for the team members of the Benjamin Church Senior Center. Maria Ursini (director), Donna Wilson (assistant director) and many volunteers have been preparing and delivering bags of food supplies to the seniors in our community. They truly want us to understand that because we are seniors we will never be forgotten.

Everyone has been exceedingly busy during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, but they all continue to frequently serve us throughout the year.

They came up with this idea and wanted the seniors in our community to understand that they are truly stepping up to help us. For supplies, each person has been reaching out to local businesses, friends and families (please note that all contacted have been enthusiastic to participate in helping those who need it the most). They always seem to general new challenges, however this one is their most comprehensive.

I myself have been exceedingly grateful and always follow up with the sincere expression of gratitude. What astonishes me the most is the manner in which they continue to generate new ideas and always make them happen. I must say that I am always dumbfounded with their generosity and will never forget to express my gratitude with a very big thank you to the staff at the senior center. I love you all very much.

He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far.
