To the editor:
I was saddened to see that Barrington’s only full service gas station has now closed.
The people at the BP station were always ready to help their patrons either fill their gas tanks, put air in their tires, fix a flat, etc. It appears another local mainstay is now being kicked to the curb side for the sake of profit.
I was told we would most likely get a fast food chain type business to replace this “mom & pop” full service station. While there’s not really anything we can do about losing some of the things that add character to our town, our town officials can at the very least see to it that there is no “drive through window” that will most certainly add to the traffic congestion on County Road and have a negative impact on our town.
Sincerely,
Jim DiMeo
