Having had the privilege of representing Westport in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 2010 to 20143, I know that meaningful progress rarely happens within a single legislative term. Improving our schools, strengthening infrastructure, and making our roads safer takes years of planning, relationships, and persistent advocacy.
Throughout my years of service, I worked to secure investments in Westport’s schools, roads, and critical infrastructure. I understand firsthand how important it is to have someone at the State House who recognizes these needs and continues pushing projects forward.
Representative Steve Ouellette has done just that.
Since taking office in 2025, Steve has continued advocating for investments that address Westport’s long-term needs. The FY26 state budget included funding for improvements at the town’s transfer station. The FY27 budget builds on that commitment with investments in school facility maintenance, and repairs to the floating dock at the state boat ramp.
Equally important is Steve’s continued advocacy for larger infrastructure projects. His work to advance funding for $1M culvert replacement and repairs and $1M in water infrastructure in House bond legislation reflects an understanding that these investments protect public safety, support future economic development, and help reduce the financial burden placed on local taxpayers.
Steve and I share the belief that strong schools, safe roads, and reliable infrastructure are fundamental to a community’s future. These are not partisan priorities, nor are they accomplishments belonging to any one elected official. They are investments made possible through cooperation, persistence, and a commitment to seeing the work through.
Steve Ouellette knows the challenges facing our town and has demonstrated his commitment to delivering results. I am pleased to see that this important work continues and proud to support his reelection.
