Letter: New scholarship offered to Little Compton students

To the editor:

As a Little Compton resident, educator, and vice-chair of the Little Compton Republican Town Committee, I am excited to announce that the committee is now offering a scholarship to graduating high school seniors who plan on furthering their education or technical skills. Interested students may find the scholarship information in the guidance offices of local high schools as well as under the documents tab on the committee’s website (www.lcrtc.com). Also, please consider joining us on June 13 at Crowther’s for our first annual scholarship dinner to raise money for future recipients. Tickets may be purchased by contacting the committee at lcrigop@gmail.com.

And, as always, all Little Compton residents are welcomed to join us at our meetings, which are held on the first Monday of the month at the community center at 7 p.m. Our next meeting is May 8 and we hope to see you there. We will be discussing further ways that we can fundraise for our school children. Please come and help support our children. We look forward to seeing you.

Laurie Anderson

Vice-Chairwoman, Little Compton Republican Town Committee
