To the editor:
As a voting citizen, I am tired. I am tired of the political hysteria I am witnessing all around. I am tired of the anxiety about this election, watching the completely different news and information being absorbed by people caught in the power play our political process has become. May I recommend this lovely break? If it is possible for you to get there, drive, bike, row, walk, bus to Colt State Park in Bristol. Seek out the forward-looking statue of John H. Chaffee and take a moment to enjoy his view. Reflect for a moment on his leadership as a champion of the environment, health care, and bipartisan efforts in the Senate. He believed in teaching people to think about important ideas, and I believe would be opposed to current leaders’ efforts to shamelessly manipulate ideas to gain power. At the bottom of his feet, read the inscription, “What We Do Today We Do For Our Children and Our Children’s Children”. If you have not yet voted, please vote accordingly.
Respectfully,
