Letter: Love the history section in The Portsmouth Times

Posted

To the editor:

My name is Austin Francis. I am a local Boy Scout of Troop 1, Portsmouth, and am writing to you to satisfy a requirement for my Communications merit badge.

I wanted to express my opinion to you about the Today in History section in the Portsmouth Times. I have always found it to be one of the most interesting sections in any of the media I read.

From the little things, like pictures from older issues of the paper, to seeing my high school teachers as kids in the reports, to the really old history, like learning that the town has a rare copy of the Declaration of Independence, I really love the local town history that always seems to be extremely well covered in the Portsmouth Times.

Thank you for all your hard work, writing for the paper, and keep it up! We in the town appreciate it very much!

Thank you again.

Austin Francis
