Kudos to our Zoning Board for seeing through the flim-flam reasoning behind the ‘Belvedere at Thames St.’ project.

As dissenting members of the Planning Board and Historic District Commission, respectively, losing in both instances by one vote, we were gobsmacked by the tortured interpretation of the Comprehensive Plan by the Planning Board and the misapplication of architectural standards by the Historic District Commission. In a unanimous decision, the Zoning Board was Bristol’s firewall, and the town is better off for it.
