Letter: I voted no on turf items on November ballot

I voted no.

I voted no on both turf items on the November ballot, along with 60 percent of Barrington residents. Imagine my surprise when I recently learned that the school committee is proceeding with plans to install a turf field at Victory Field. From my understanding, school committee members say they can do this, despite our "no turf" vote, using $4.5 million from the school budget, and that Barrington residents' vote against turf is irrelevant because of how the turf field is being funded.

Do other residents know that we are getting a turf field despite the two "no turf" votes? I did not.
