Letter: CPA helping give fresh start to Historic Head
To the editor:
The lead article last week "Fresh start for Historic Head" was very much appreciated.
In addition, the Westport Community Preservation Committee would like to note the contribution of $121,000 in CPA funding as the town's contribution to this excellent project. $32,000 was used to finance the beginning of the process of repair — for the clean up of the oil pollution at the Head and to start the rebuilding of the stone walls.
Another $89,000 of CPA funds has been approved by Town Meeting, coupled with administrative funding, to preserve other portions of the walls. We would like to commend the Westport Landing Commission which has developed and supervised these projects to do.
