Letter: Conflicted appointment of lawyer reason enough for recall

If there are fewer than 940 ballots cast, it won’t matter how many people vote to recall Mr. Katz and Mr. Coulter.

One concern of several is: While pursuing their own lawsuits against the town, these councilors appointed as town solicitor a paid lobbyist for the RI Center for Freedom and Prosperity which is Mr. Katz’s employer, and Mr. Coulter’s personal lawyer as his fill-in when needed.

The RI Ethics Committee said the town now has to hire other lawyers for their cases, at more taxpayer expense.

Your one vote can make the difference for Tiverton.
