To the editor:
There is an old saying that when things get tough the tough get going. The insurance companies are a classic example.
If you use your binoculars, you will see the CEOs of property insurance companies racing to Wall Street to notify the investors of all the policies they cancelled in Florida, Louisiana, California, and North Carolina as a result of the fires, floods, and tornadoes that have been costing them money.
You see, after all, the insurance companies are beholden to the stockholders, not the policy holders.
When are the politicians that regulate them and have to guarantee them a profit, going to represent the public and make sure that people that have paid premiums for years get made whole.
The lobby is too strong, so don't hold your breath because loopholes and lobby go together.
