June St. Onge, 84, Bristol

June St. Onge, of 350 Metacom Ave., Bristol, passed away at the age of 84 on Jan. 25, following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Albert J. St. Onge Jr.

Born in Bristol of the late Walter and Mary (Barba) Belmore, she was a volunteer for the Senior Companion program for many years before resigning last year due to an illness.

She was the sister of Walter Belmore and Kathleen Leffingwell; mother of Kevin J. St. Onge, James St. Onge and Diane M. Ellis. She was the grandmother of five: Kevin St. Onge Jr., Catie St. Onge Fosberg, Jeffrey St. Onge, Jennifer Ellis and Jeremy Ellis. She also leaves four great grandchildren: Dylan Fosberg, Sydney Fosberg, Caynn Kraft and Trinity Ellis.

The funeral will be private.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
