Joseph R. Bolton, 57

Joseph R. Bolton, 57, passed away in Providence on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, after a short illness. He was the loyal husband of Zita (Pereira) Bolton for 32 years before his passing.

Born in New Bedford, Mass., Joseph was the son of Mary (Taffe) and the late Raymond Bolton.

Joseph graduated from Bishop Stang High School in North Dartmouth, Mass., Class of 1982. He is a graduate of Southeastern Massachusetts University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He worked as the finance director for the town of Somerset, Mass. He was also a member of the Bristol Elks Lodge. He enjoyed traveling with his beloved wife and his sons.

In addition to his wife Zita, Joe also leaves behind his sons, Joseph E. Bolton and Thomas R. Bolton; his mother Mary; brothers John Bolton (Colleen) and Dan Bolton; nephews Matthew and Dominic Bolton; nieces Megan and Ashley Bolton, as well as friends and colleagues.

Joe was predeceased by his father Raymond.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 10 a.m. inside Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 141 State St., Bristol. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
