Joseph F. Stankiewicz, 73, of Little Compton, unexpectedly passed away at home on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022. He was the husband of Susan (Fish) Stankiewicz.

Mr. Stankiewicz was born in Fall River, son of the late Joseph T. and Stefania (Paszowski) Stankiewicz and the late Irene Stankiewicz, and had been a lifelong resident of Little Compton. Prior to retirement, he worked as systems tester for Raytheon, Portsmouth. Following retirement, he enjoyed spending time at his New York schoolhouse. He was an avid NASCAR and NHRA fan and enjoyed working on his cars.

Survivors along with his wife include his son, Andrew J. Stankiewicz of Little Compton; his daughter, Jennifer M. Stankiewicz and her husband Andrew Van Zandt of New York; and his sister, Marilyn Hill of Tiverton. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Rex.

Funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, Mass., at 11:30 a.m.

Visitation will Friday, Dec. 30, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., prior to the service.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Forever Paws, 300 Lynwood St., Fall River, MA 02721.
