John Fleet Isherwood, III “Sparky”, age 57, of Tiverton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of Cynthia (Loudon) Isherwood and the late John F. Isherwood, Jr.

A lover of sailing, Sparky enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, and spent over 30 years living in the Caribbean.

Besides his devoted mother, he is also survived by four siblings, Hugh “David” Isherwood and his partner Karen Oliveira of Swansea, Katherine Hook of N. Kingstown, Karin Coulter and her husband RJ of Jamestown, and Christopher Isherwood of Newport; eight nieces and nephews, Kathryn, Patrick, Andrew, Emily, Matthew, Victoria, Ella and Meredith.

His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 1956 Main Rd., Tiverton. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private. A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
