John F. "Jack" Cox, 69, of Westport, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Nancy L. (Cambra) Cox.
Mr. Cox was born in Brighton, Mass., son of the late Herbert Cox and the late Alice (Smith) Turchin, and had been a longtime resident of Westport.
He had worked as a technician for Verizon. His passion was playing golf and he enjoyed spending time with his friends at the Westport Social Athletic Club.
Survivors, along with his wife, include his son, John T. Cox of S. Weymouth, Mass.; his daughter, Kristin E. Cox of E. Weymouth, Mass.; step-daughter, Christina M. Cambra of Westport; brother, Edward Cox of Florida and Scituate; seven grandchildren, John, Thomas, Matthew, Brian, Gavin, Erin and Mya; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the step-son of the late Philip Turchin.
His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Sunday, March 17, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, at 4 p.m.
Calling hours will be Sunday, at the funeral home, from 2-4 p.m., prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
