Upon immigrating to the United States, John set about achieving the American Dream. He worked in the construction industry, rising to the position of foreman at Dimeo Construction. His work with Dimeo afforded him the opportunity to travel to the Middle East as well as being part of building prominent buildings throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
His absolute greatest joy, however, was to spend time with his family.
His funeral services were held Oct. 9 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Marinaldo Batista at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Courtney Moody and Christine Cabral. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Alicen Ingle, and the offertory gifts were presented by Zoe Cambra and Cody Cambra. Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Charlie Cabral, Joe Tavares, Walter Tavares, Mario Canario, John Costa and Taylor Scott.
