Sunday is a day typically dedicated to relaxation, and Mother’s Day lands on a Sunday — so a morning (or afternoon) stroll through a specialty market geared toward moms might be the perfect start to the day (after coffee, of course).
Let the live music (yes, there will be live music) set the pace of the stroll while guests explore tables filled with local finds, such as handmade ceramics from Amado Ceramics or handcrafted soaps and bath and body products from Hilly’s Soaps Bath and Body — all perfect for gift-giving.
After selecting gifts, the food section offers a variety of artisan foods and grab-and-go meals. A wide range of ethnic offerings will be available, including Brazilian flavors from Gnarly Vines, Argentinian empanadas from The Perfect Empanada, classic treats from June Loves English Bakery, and Vietnamese- and Australian-inspired baked goods (with gluten-free options) from Big and Little Spoons. Pita Pocket RI will also feature homemade Turkish baklava and stuffed grape leaves.
Enjoy a refreshing mocktail from Kristi’s Kraftails or take home a bottle along with some fresh, locally sourced pasta from Little Rhody Pasta — a delightful pairing. There are many more food vendors that will be at the event, as well, so the options are endless.
A final stop might include the section dedicated to nature lovers, featuring herbs, plants, and vegetables — all sourced from a local farm in Westport — ideal for thoughtful, lasting gifts.
This annual specialty market will be held on Sunday, May 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tiverton Middle School.
