Introducing the Brand New 2020 Kia Telluride – Rightfully in the Lead of Its Segment

Posted

If you ever wanted something that says “new and improved” more than any other car in the midsize SUV segment, the 2020 Kia Telluride should definitely be first on your list. This impressive new vehicle has very little history when you look at what the segment offered in the past, but its future is extremely bright.

Kia spared no expense to designing a solid, well-built SUV that will turn heads as soon as it cruises down the driveway. Its rugged stance is complemented perfectly by its sheer elegance, and with quality components and materials featured inside and out, this new Kia SUV is a clear favorite when it comes to style and design.

Meet the New Leader: The 2020 Kia Telluride

The critics’ rating for the new 2020 Kia Telluride is an impressive 9.3/10, which already says a lot about Kia’s approach to leading the 3rd row SUV segment with this model and the fact that their attempt was a highly successful one. The new Telluride is rugged enough to make the Volkswagen Atlas or the Honda Pilot look like meek little sedans in comparison, and its ability to also rank high in practical areas like fuel economy, safety and comfort, also makes it stand out as a valuable contributor to its class.

The butch design is complemented by a large set of rectangular headlights and a tastefully woven grille that was dubbed the “tiger nose.” The Kia’s aggressive design doesn’t stop there. Its faux running boards and hook-shaped taillights are designed to attract a lot of attention as well, and they don’t fail in their attempt to do so. Moreover, the vehicle features a wide “Telluride” wordmark stretching across its front and rear end, which is a design feature normally reserved for luxury SUVs and trucks.

The Interior: Technology and Comfort at Their Best

The 8-passenger 2020 Kia Telluride features a comfortable and well-crafted interior with room to spare.  While other crossovers can still compete when it comes to the amount of space available in the front and middle seats, the rearmost seats are what makes the difference. This large SUV offers adult-friendly seating and comfortable Nappa leather available on all three rows. Also, even though the third row doesn’t get ventilation and heating options, it still reclines.

From the driver’s perspective, visibility inside the Kia Telluride is excellent, and comfort levels are off the chart. Noise reduction is impressive beyond expectation, and even with the V6 engine roaring not far away, you’ll only hear an occasional rumble. Also, you’ll find that the 2020 Kia Telluride offers more than its fair share of comfort-inducing technologies and practical assets such as an 8-inch touchscreen, UVO Link System – which is similar to a smartphone remote start feature – and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

When speaking of the interior, the cargo area is also worth mentioning, as the Telluride offers 21 cubic feet of cargo space behind its three rows of seats. When you also consider that folding down the rear seats will open up an additional 46 cubic feet, you’ll be looking at about 87 cubic feet, which is enough to eclipse all of the Telluride’s counterparts in the 3rd row segment, including the similarly impressive Kia Sorento.

Safety Features

The safety systems included with the Telluride are equally impressive. You’ll be able to benefit from such additions as the blind spot monitoring system and forward and reverse ABS, which allows for perfect control even in dire circumstances. Moreover, the car comes with lane centering and lane departure warning as standard on the SX trim, and its adaptive cruise control system works seamlessly in all traffic situations.

Basically, the 2020 Kia Telluride is considered the most well-equipped vehicle in its segment when it comes to safety. The car still got a 7/10 safety rating from expert reviewers even before it was crash tested, and once the crash test results came back from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, the “Good” ratings it received for six different crash tests proved that its rugged exterior appearance isn’t just for show.

The Performance Levels of the Kia Telluride

Even though performance is not its strongest point, the Kia Telluride still excels when it comes to its handling and power. The 3.8-liter V6 engine offers more than decent towing capabilities and a power level of 291 horsepower along with 260 lb-ft of torque. The car’s towing capacity is an impressive 5,000 lbs, which rivals that of many cars within its segment.

The Kia Telluride also has an EPA-estimated 20 mpg fuel consumption for city drives and 26 mpg on the highway. Also, its smooth ride, 8 inches of ground clearance and five-year basic warranty all attest to the performance and reliability of the 2020 Kia Telluride, which many consider to be the most practical and well put together vehicles in the 3rd row segment, rivaling many other similarly or even higher priced crossover SUVs.

The 2020 Kia Telluride and all the 2020 cars and SUVs from Kia are available at Kia of Attleboro on Newport Avene in South Attleboro, Mass.
