PORTSMOUTH — The owner of an interior design company was arrested last week after local residents complained they had paid him in exchange for service that was never provided, according to police.

According to police, the victims reported that throughout 2022, they made a number of payments to Nathan James Reynolds, 35, of 100 Lansing Ave., Warwick, but no service was ever provided by his company, Insperiors, LLC.

Following an investigation, police determined that probable cause existed for the issuance of an arrest warrant, and Reynolds was charged at Second Division District Court on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 12:30 p.m. 

Reynolds was charged with three counts of obtaining money under false pretense/personation (under $500).

According to his LinkedIn page, Reynolds is the owner and designer of Insperiors, a Rhode Island-based full-service residential interior design firm.

Tuesday, Jan. 24

Brian S. Leroy, Jr., 19, of 1 Pell St., Newport, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, following a motor vehicle accident on Riverside Street around 9 p.m. Leroy was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, police said.

Wednesday, Jan. 25

Lynne Marie Servant, 38, of 61 Judson St., Apt. 2, Fall River, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and operating without an active license, following a traffic stop on Chase Road around 5:30 p.m. A search of the vehicle yielded two different suspected narcotics, according to police.

Friday, Jan. 27

Brendan Scott Collins, 27, of 46 Islington Ave., was charged with domestic vandalism with malicious injury to property after officers responded to a call for service from the home around 1:15 p.m. Officers determined on the scene that Collins had vandalized multiple household items belonging to the victim, a 26-year-old male who lives at the residence, according to police. 

Shelby William DiNobile, 26, of 101 Cooper Road, Chepachet, was charged with larceny of under $500. DiNobile was arrested shortly before 1 p.m. at 46 Islington Ave. after a call for service.

Jamie Edwin Davis, 42, of 8 Pagnano St., Bristol, was charged with illegal possession of a knife and DUI, first offense, following a vehicle stop on West Main Road at Freeborn Street around 7:20 p.m. Davis was also cited for refusal to submit to a chemical test, police said.

Neil Hollister Cain, 29, of no permanent address, was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and larceny of under $1,500. Officers responded to an Islington Avenue home at about 11:15 p.m. after getting a report of an unwanted party and larceny from the residence, police said. The victim, a 58-year-old Portsmouth man, reported there were 35 $2 bills missing from a case inside the home, according to police. After taking his initial report, officers were called back to the home because Cain was forcefully banging on its windows and doors, police said. The victim was visibly shaken and stated he was in fear for his life, police said. Cain was taken into custody and found to be in possession of numerous $2 bills, police said.

Saturday, Jan. 28

Christina Raffa, 51, of 63 Flint Corn Road, was charged with domestic violence-simple assault, first offense, after police received a 911 hangup call made from her home around 6:20 p.m. According to police, Raffa had struck a 42-year-old Portsmouth man in the head.

Sunday, Jan. 29

Patrick Keith Esher, 41, of 60 Mansfield Road, Apt. 229, New London, Conn., was charged with DUI, first offense, after being pulled over on East Main Road at Immokolee Drive around 1 a.m. for committing multiple moving violations, police said. Esher was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
