Barrington Majors Softball All Stars defeated Middletown 16-6 on Thursday, June 27, in an elimination bracket game.

Barrington’s bats came alive, as Claire Bickford and Molly O’Connell came up big with 3 RBIs each, while Daylen Baillie added two hits and an RBI. Sarah Clegg, Delaney Masse, Piper Morrissey, and Tess Paup all came through with timely hits and runs batted in also, and Claire Ferreira scored a run in the victory.

Barrington’s Piper Morrissey shined in the pitching circle, giving up just two hits and striking out 11.

The win followed a 5-0 loss to Tiverton in a winner’s bracket game on Wednesday night.

Barrington’s Clegg pitched very well, striking out 12 Tiverton batters and allowing just one walk. Lexi Fredericks picked up the win for Tiverton, tossing a no-hitter. She also hit a triple and knocked in a run.

The championship bracket rematch between Tiverton and Barrington is set for Monday night, July 1, at 5:45 p.m. in Tiverton.
