The Mt. Hope softball team scored twelve runs in the first three innings and skunked Mt. Pleasant, 16-0, in the Division III semifinals at Colt State Park on Saturday morning. The Huskies will play in the best of three, Division III Championship series starting Tuesday night at RIC at 6 p.m. Senior pitcher Madison Reis was dominant once again allowing just one hit, while striking out seven in five innings of work. Carissa Rego led the Lady Huskies with a four hit day as the team amassed 19 hits and 13 RBIs. Rego hit three singles and a double. Brianna Gendreau and Lindsay Lefebvre each had three hits. Jessica Cerce, Sam Eddy, Reis, Caitlyn Moniz each had two hits. Haley Teixeira had one hit and Gabby Greenslade reached base twice by walk. The Lady Huskies scored two in the first, five in the second, four in the third, capped by a homer by Reis and four in the fourth.
