The Mt. Hope baseball team lost to Exeter/West Greenwich 11-10 to end their playoff run at the Guiteras School field on Monday afternoon. The Huskies scored eight runs in the first two innings. Jake Ramos slugged a three-run homer and Cam Santerre smacked a two run triple to help the Huskies to an 8-0 lead after two innings. Huskies pitcher Connor Padovich put up a pair of goose eggs in the first two innings. But the long layoff and the big lead seemed to unnerve the pitcher as he quickly loaded the bases with a pair of walks and an error. Exeter/West Greenwich Then their bats caught fire. The Scarlet Knights struck for seven runs before head coach Michael Mazzarella pulled his unsettled pitcher. Jacob Servant came in to pitch but didn't offer any relief as the hot Knights bats kept hitting men around the bases. When the dust cleared the Knights led 11-8. The Huskies scratched and clawed for two more runs in the bottom of the fifth, but couldn't pull out the victory.

The loss dropped the Huskies overall record to 17-4.
