Barrington's Daniel Shea recently collected 3,370 pieces of Halloween candy and donated it all to his school candy collection for Amos House, which is the state's largest soup kitchen.

Daniel, a fourth-grader at Wheeler School, gave some of his own candy and also collected some from his friends and neighbors.

With some help from his older brother Charlie, Daniel sorted the candy into bags of 10 pieces each and brought it to school for distribution to Amos House.

Daniel said he was very appreciative that so many children were willing to part with some of their Halloween candy to help those less fortunate. Amos House serves up to 800 meals each day to those in need.
