The East Side of Providence’s lively summer festival returns, with live bands, family fun, street entertainment, makers/artisans/vintage vendors, food trucks, and a beer & cocktail garden to benefit the Hope Street Merchants Association.

After a rain delay, The Hope Street Merchants Association is hosting its long-awaited annual event, the Hope Street Summer Block Party this Sunday, Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is free, family friendly, and open to all. 

Hope Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from Rochambeau Avenue to Fifth Street, creating space for more than a quarter-mile of fun, drawing visitors from all over Rhode Island and beyond to one of Providence’s most unique and vibrant neighborhoods. The Summer Block Party’s beer and cocktail garden will feature selections from Narragansett Beer, Moniker Brewery, and The Industrious Spirit Company. 

For the second year in a row, the HSMA will work with Ampersand Creative Co. to plan the event and curate vendors. The street will be lined with pop-up vendors offering a wide variety of artisan, vintage, and hand-crafted goods, along with food trucks, live music, roving entertainment, and more. 

Proceeds will be directed to Rochambeau Library, Ballet RI and the Hope Street Merchants.
