To the editor:

The Warren Veterans Honor Roll Committee is setting a cutoff date of July 4 for receiving the names of war-time veterans who are not currently listed on the Honor Roll.

The names will be added to the Honor Roll in a ceremony tentatively set for Veterans Day, 2021, depending on progress on the pandemic. The names must be sent to a forge in Pittsburgh by Aug. 1 to ensure completion in time for the ceremony.

War-time veterans must have entered the service from a Warren address to be included on the Honor Roll.

Listed below are the names of veterans researched or received who are not currently included on the Honor Roll. Please call the Committee’s secretary, Judy Fardig, at 245-5431 if you, a family member or friend is not listed below who should be included on the Honor Roll.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
