Helen M. Turner, 80, formerly of Tiverton, passed away on February 26, 2021. She was the widow of Rogers D. Turner. Born in Ellicott City, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Frank Charles Orem and Evelyn (Smith) Orem.
Prior to her retirement, she had worked in banking for the Bank of Newport for approximately 35 years. Helen enjoyed Boston sports including the Patriots and Celtics. She loved going to the casino and playing bingo.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Nystrom (Bob), and a son, Rogers D. Turner Jr. (Karen), along with her grandchildren, Kristine Marsocci, Katie Marie Marsocci, Bryan Turner and Rebecca Turner. In addition, great grandchildren are Shelby Sweet and Scarlett Sweet. She was predeceased by eight siblings. She is also survived by her companion, Leo Boutin. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pocasset Memorial Funeral Home, 462 Main Road, Tiverton. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, March 3, with arrival time at 9 am for a service to be held at 9:30 am.
