Annual event raises money for Potter League

PORTSMOUTH — Hundreds of four-legged friends got together at Glen Park Sunday for some sniffing, contests, treats and a long walk for the 2019 Heart & Sole Walk for the Animals.

The 30th annual event is a fund-raiser to help the Potter League for Animals in Middletown care for thousands of homeless animals each year.

Participants enjoyed special activities for dogs and children, a flea-less marketplace featuring vendors and sponsors, music, pet contests, food trucks and a festive atmosphere celebrating the special bond between animals and humans.

Last year nearly $90,000 was raised in support of the Potter League, and this year’s goal was $100,000.
