The Barrington High School girls lacrosse team has impressed its coach, Kerri Thornton, so far this season.

“Overall, this team works incredibly hard, and every single player plays a vital role in the success we've had so far,” Thornton wrote in a message to the Barrington Times. “It's exciting to see the progress we've made, and we look forward to what the future holds as we continue to grow and improve.”

The Eagles are 2-5 overall this season. Barrington lost a close game to Portsmouth on Friday, May 2, 16-12. The Eagles dropped a 12-8 decision to LaSalle on April 29, following a 21-12 victory over North Kingstown on April 24.

“Our attack is unselfish and well-balanced, with the players working together to create scoring opportunities for one another,” Thorton wrote. “Emily Horn and Lily O’Neill have consistently demonstrated strong chemistry, especially with their ability to connect on the field.”

Horn leads the Eagles with 25 goals this season, while O’Neill leads the team in assists with 29. Horn is averaging 3.6 goals per game, and O’Neill is average 4.1 assists per game.

“In the midfield, Bailey Duncan, Charlotte Farrell, and Ashley DaCosta hold our line strong, coming up with key draw controls that help us maintain possession,” Thorton wrote. “Defensively, they operate as a cohesive unit, using constant communication to generate key caused turnovers—led by Grace Comfort and Ava Anderson.”

Barrington was scheduled to play at Moses Brown on Tuesday, May 6, and at home against Lincoln School on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
