Hands-On, At Home Family Program: Calder “Mobiles & Stabiles” on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10 AM. This virtual program is open to families with children ages 8 to 14.

This hour-long program involves a brief introduction to the work of engineer-turned-artist Alexander Calder, with most of the session designing and creating your own kinetic, colorful, and balanced mobiles and stabiles out of the materials in RIMOSA’s kit. Here is what participants have said after the session:

“It really got my kids thinking and they had a blast.”

“[I liked] engaging with my children and seeing how creative everyone was.”

I got to spend time with my son doing something fun.”

Registration for this program will open to North Kingstown residents on March 14th and to the general public on March 23rd. Visit www.rimosa.org to register.

The cost of this program is $5 per kit, delivered to your home after the close of registration on April 3, 2021. Each kit contains the materials needed for one person. We recommend purchasing a kit for each individual participating in the program.

This program is made possible by the generous support of the North Kingstown Arts Council.
