The Guiteras Performing Arts Committee will be performing its annual spring musical this weekend, with three performances of “Magic Treehouse: Pirates Past Noon.” The story follows the adventures of Jack and Annie as they encounter treasure-hunting pirates of the 18th-century Caribbean.

The play features a cast of more than 60 young actors from Kindergarten through Grade 5. All shows take place at the Reynolds School Auditorium, 235 High St., Bristol.

Tickets are available at the door; they are $10 for adults, $5 for children and seniors. Shows are at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 26, and Saturday, April 27, and at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
