PROVIDENCE — East Providence High School football standouts, seniors Kaleb Almeida and Carew Gomes, were recently presented with their respective team defensive and offensive Most Valuable Player Awards by the Providence Gridiron Club during a banquet held at the Quonset “O” Club in early December.
Almeida was chosen by the club as EPHS defensive MVP for the second season in a row. The linebacker led the Townies with 70 tackles, 50 solo and 14 for a loss. He added two fumble recoveries. Gomes, at 6-feet-4, 250 pounds, was a standout for EPHS on the offensive line at left guard.
