Grape-stomping, food and fun at the Newport Vineyard Harvest Festival

Sip, savor and toast to the seasons’ crush at Newport Vineyards’ fifth annual Harvest Festival. There will be two days full of grape stomping, wine and beer tasting, and eating tasty festive treats.

Enjoy live music while sipping on local wines or fresh Taproot beer, and noshing on food created by scratch from their culinary team.

Feeling competitive? You could be called to compete in their Grape Stomp Competition or Pie Eating Contest. There will also be live music and a costume contest with prizes to celebrate the Hallo-weekend.

The schedule is:

Saturday, October 29, 2022

  • Session 1: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Jake Ash Band)
  • Session 2: 2:30 to 5 p.m. – ADVANCE TIX SOLD OUT* (Take It to the Bridge Trio)

Sunday October 30, 2022

  • Session 1: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Blue Light Bandits)
  • Session 2: 2:30 to 5 p.m. (Straight Outta Rehab)

* Only 1 session permitted per ticket; last call will be 15 minutes prior to the session end time; bars will close during the 30-minute intermission between sessions and only second session ticket attendees will be permitted to enter for the second session.

*Tickets will be available at the door, at the same price, as long as capacity / parking availability is not met.

DETAILS:

General Admission ticket ($33) includes admission, a souvenir logo glass, and tasting – your choice of 5 tastes from their wine and beer bars. Food items and additional beverages are available for purchase.

Grape stomping will take place at 12:30 and 3 p.m. each day. The pie eating contest will be at 1:30 and 4 p.m. each day. If you’re interested in participating in the contests, be sure to be near the locations a few minutes before the scheduled time, and dress accordingly! Contestants will be randomly selected from the audience.

Note that parking is limited. Guests are asked to carpool with a group or utilize a ride service.

Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
