Gloria M. (St. Ours) Mansi, 83, passed away surrounded by her family in her home on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016. She was the wife of the late Anthony L. Mansi.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Catherine (Ranieri) St. Ours. She worked at Raytheon in Portsmouth, RI for 29 years until retiring in 1996. She was the life of the party, with a wild sense of humor and a caring heart. She will be missed by many.

Mrs. Mansi leaves her sons, Louis Mansi of Warren and Michael Mansi or Ridgecrest, CA; daughter, Diane Mansi of Warren; a sister, Lorraine Sgambato; her grandchildren, Meagan and Anthony Mansi, and Christina Glenn and Michael Mansi; her great-grandchildren, Christopher, Brenden and Nakoa; a sister-in-law, Anna Mansi; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. She was the sister of the late John St. Ours, Andrew St. Ours, William St. Ours and Louis “Cut” St. Ours, Jr., Carmella Papa, Julia Scolaro and Rose Branco.

Contributions may be made in her memory to Warren Fire & Rescue, 1 Joyce St. Warren, RI 02885 and are greatly appreciated.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
