Gladys Jackson Couturier, 93, Tiverton

Gladys (Robertshaw) Jackson Couturier, 93, a lifelong resident of Tiverton, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2016, at her home. She was the wife of the late Edwin W. Jackson and the late Herve A. Couturier.

Gladys was born in Tiverton, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Annie M. (Greenwood) Robertshaw. She was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School class of 1941.

Gladys worked as an office manager for the North Tiverton Water Department for 25 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member at the Amicable Congregational Church in Tiverton and a member of Adah Chapter #15, O.E.S. in North Kingstown for 74 years.

Survivors are two daughters, Nancy J. Garvey of Tiverton and Judith E. Brightman and her husband Clifford of Westport; a son, Richard E. Jackson and his wife Claudette of Tiverton; four grandchildren, Curtis Jackson, Ron Garvey Jr., Brian Garvey and Jennifer Doval; five great grandchildren, Maxwell Jackson, Austin Garvey, Zoe Doval, Chloe Jackson and Liam Garvey; along with several nieces and a nephew. She was the sister of the late Alice R. Gray, and Mildred, Walter and Vernon Robertshaw.

All arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson Street, Fall River.
