Two East Bay Bristol County Lacrosse Association teams won state championships Sunday morning, in games played one after the other at the University of Rhode Island.

First, the Grade 5/6 team finished an undefeated season with a 12-3 win over Burrillville. Coaches are Cat Horn, Karen Whittet and Claire Moscrop.

Next up, the Grade 7/8 team fell behind 8-5 to Middletown, but stormed back in dramatic fashion by scoring three goals in the final 4 minutes (including the game-tying goal with 24 seconds left), before winning 9-8 in sudden-death overtime. Coaches for that team are Ted Broomhead, Ryan Jackson, Chris Gagliano and Jock Hayes.
