WARREN — About two dozen former football players from Mt. Hope High School gathered at Burr's Hill Park Saturday night, June 21, to take part in the program's annual flag game on what was a warm, sunny evening at the Warren shoreline.
There were few more of the older generation also on hand to take in the festivities as well as join in to salute former Mt. Hope head T.J. Del Santo.
The game is annually used as a fundraiser for the scholarship funds in the memory of MHHS players Matthew Harris and Matthew DePasquale.
The night was used as a way of formally recognizing Del Santo, who served two separate stints at the helm of the Husky program. He stepped away the last time after the 2022 season.
