PAWTUCKET — The East Providence High School football team opened up its 2019 Division I regular season schedule Saturday, Sept. 21, against St. Raphael at Pariseau Field, the Townies defeating the host Saints in overtime, 22-20.
E.P. running back Juan Diaz ran for a touchdown on the first play of the extra session, then carried in for the two-point conversion.
The Saints also scored on their first overtime series, but a pass attempt for two was broken up by Townies' defensive back Ismael Frias.
E.P. quarterback Jaden Pena scored both of the touchdowns for the Townies during regulation.
