Full Channel changes name to i3 Broadband

Customer services will be unaffected by name-only change

Sam Valencia didn’t cut an old-fashioned telephone cord with the giant pair of scissors loaned to him Thursday by the East Bay Chamber of Commerce, but the ribbon-cutting ceremony he oversaw at 2 p.m. nevertheless marks a move toward the future for the old Full Channel, which as of this week has been officially re-named i3 Broadband.

Mr. Valencia is the CFO at CountryWide Broadband Group, which took over management of Full Channel last year. He was in town to officially launch the name change for the broadband, Internet and telephone provider, which services approximately 21,000 people in Barrington, Bristol and Warren.

“We love the community,” he said. “And we really think we’re going to make a meaningful impact on this community.

Though i3 will continue to offer cable, Internet and digital telephone services, the name change is more in keeping with the company’s goal of staying at the forefront of technology in the fast-paced digital services work.

“The new name allows us to emphasize our continued investment and focus on being the leading provider of high-speed broadband internet services for our residential and business customers in the East Bay,”

General Manager Matt Torrenti said. “With an average of eight connected devices per household, having access to high-speed Internet is more of a necessity now. We’re excited about the name change to i3 Broadband and the investment made to allow our residential and business customers more choices, higher internet speeds and reasonable prices.”

Current residential and business customers’ accounts and services will not be impacted by the name change. The office location, 57 Everett St, in Warren and office hours will remain the same.
