Firefly Yoga Festival

Join us for a day of yoga, meditation, music, vendors, food and fun! Yoga classes will start at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the afternoon. Teachers will co-lead each class, incorporating their own style of yoga. Live local musicians Bill Bartholomew and Dave Flamand will be playing throughout the day. Wolf Moon's Fire will be providing Tarot Card readings, dream interpretations, Ruin readings and more. Newport Community Yoga will be sponsoring the “Healing Grove”, featuring meditation, massage services, Reiki, reflexology in the lower tree grove of the park. Acacia Cafe based in Tiverton will be provide a menu offering vegan and vegetarian dishes.

WHERE: Glen Park, Portsmouth
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 16; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
COST: General admission is $25 and includes parking, admission to all yoga classes, demonstrations and music. A non-yoga ticket is $15; kids 14 and younger are free

Meet our staff
Jim McGaw

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
