Fernanda Paiva (Bernardo) Almeida, 94, of Waterman Street passed away on July 29, 2020, at Silver Creek Manor. She was the wife of the late Manuel Cabral Almeida.
Born in Pico da Pedra, St. Michael, Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Margarida (Paiva) Bernardo. She is survived by her children, Fernando Cabral and his wife Laudalina, Mariana Aguiar and her husband Jose, Carlos Cabral and his wife Alda; grandchildren, Kimberly Messa, Kevin Cabral, Nancy Davis, Susan Aguilar and Brenda McMillan; and great-grandchildren, Glenn Opielawski, Sabrina Opielawski, Austin Opielawski, Bella Mancieri, Mathew Mancieri, Addison McMillan, Nate Davis, CJ Davis, Cristiano Messa, Nathan Cabral and Conner Cabral. She was the sister of Margarida Milhomens.
Mrs. Almeida was employed by Robin Rug, American Tourister and R J Manufacturing before retiring.
Her funeral services were held Aug. 3 from the George Lima Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Rev. Marinaldo Batista at St. Elizabeth’s Church. Liturgical readings were by Nancy Davis and Brenda McMillan. The Prayer of the Faithful was read by Susan Aguiar.
Burial followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Nancy Davis, Susan Aguiar, Brenda McMillan, Kevin Cabral, Kimberly Messa and Francisco DaPonte.
