Ellen Mae (Gould) Harms, 77, of Turner, Maine, passed away in the comfort of her home, with her daughter by her side on Tuesday Dec 15, 2015.  She fought a brief but rapid battle with CNS Lymphoma.  Ellen was a mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend to many.  Her sweet disposition was enjoyed by all that knew her.

Born in Lewiston, Maine, Ellen was one of five children.  Her first job was with the phone company.  Marrying a petty officer in the US Navy, Ellen and Don were able to live in a variety of places including Bermuda and Puerto Rico.

Ellen loved the water and went swimming in any ocean, lake or pond she had access to.  It was this love for the water and family that brought her back to live at Bear Pond for the past ten years.

Ellen was an active woman who loved to shop, dine out, attended Bible study, and adventures with the Red Hat Society.  Many weddings, baby showers, birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated with beautiful cakes Ellen made.

Ellen was a very talented quilter, leaving her legacy with the various quilted items she gifted to friends and family over the years.

Ellen was pre-deceased by her husband Donald, her son Steven, her sister Edith and brothers Richard and Robert.  She is survived by her daughter Susan, son-in–law Brandon, grandsons Emerson and Lincoln, her beloved sister Betty, in-laws Jeanne and Leroy Stenerson, sister-in-law Joan and many loving nephews, nieces and distant grandchildren from her son.

Ellen will take her final resting place at Gracelawn Cemetary next to her husband and other family members. Final arrangements will be held at a later time.
