PORTSMOUTH — Police stepped up patrols over the weekend due to the Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade and arrested eight people on charges of driving while intoxicated.
The arrests took place Friday through Sunday, March 11-13.
Here’s a list of those charged:
• Harrison A. Patuto, 21, of 1220 West Main Road, Portsmouth, was charged Friday at 10:43 a.m. (Police say they are awaiting blood test results.)
• David A. Blackman, 34, of 683 Metacom Ave., No. 79, Bristol, was also charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test.
• Derek J. Mure, 28, of 7 Canonchet Drive, Portsmouth, was arrested Saturday at 1:26 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated (second offense), refusing to submit to a chemical test and resisting arrest.
• Mario J. Melo, 47, of 317 Hancock St., Tiverton, was charged at 7:08 p.m. Saturday.
• Deanna B. Andrews, 24, of 143 Baker St., Apt. 3, Fall River, was arrested on Saturday at 9:41 p.m. and also charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test.
• David M. Gibeau Jr., 29, of 276 Hamlet St., Fall River, was arrested at 11:36 p.m. Saturday.
• Deborah A. McGowan, 55, of 310 Old Mill Lane, Portsmouth, was arrested at 11:56 p.m. Saturday.
• Eric J. Barros, 29, of 50 Agricultural Ave., Rehoboth, Mass., was arrested on Sunday at 1:24 a.m. and also charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test.
